Emily Rutledge

Co-President

Intergenerational education is of the utmost importance to me, so joining enTECH who facilitates this relationship was an obvious choice. I appreciate the chance to work with peers and older adults, all who share a common interest in exploring what technology has to offer in the 21st century and the post-pandemic world. enTECH provides the space for individuals and communities to grow in mutually beneficial areas and in ways that I cannot wait to be a part of.

I am passionate about both healthcare and technology so when I found that enTech merged these interests of mine with a focus on helping the community I was excited to get involved. I joined enTech as an effort to utilize technology to improve the healthcare field while helping make this knowledge accessible to everyone.

Executives

Wingchee Wen

Admissions/Research Director

I joined EnTECH because I wanted to help the elderly who dont feel so confident in using technology to feel competent using technology just like “everyone else” does! I know it’s not comfortable to feel “alone: plus helpless.

Zainab Mehmood

ETECH@Home Director

I decided to join EnTech as I have a passion for medicine and how technology can be used to improve the medical field. Being part of EnTech allows me to not only support the elderly who need assistance with using technology, but it also helps me gain more knowledge as technology is evolving every day. I first started as a volunteer and loved making a difference in my community, and I hope to make an even bigger difference!

Dinushi De Silva

ETECH@Home Director

I am interested in the ways in which utilizing technology can help support and improve our healthcare system, as it continues to evolve. Being a part of Entech has given me the ability to support clients of the older population, to help trouble shoot problems and help gain more knowledge with technology. I believe all individuals no matter the age should learn and adapt to ways in which technology can be beneficial to one’s day to day life.

Sara Al Badri

Socials Director

After volunteering for enTECH in September 2022, I saw how meaningful this club was. enTECH makes a huge impact on the communities they reach and have been actively supporting older adults in our region. I've always been passionate about gerontology and after witnessing first-hand how powerful the effects of enTECH were on our community, I knew I wanted to be behind the scenes and utilize my passion for good. Now as an executive, I can't wait to make even more a difference!

Vanessa Duong

Outreach Director

I first found out about enTECH through my introductory health course. I have always found it meaningful to connect the gap between the older generation and technology, and enTECH was the perfect fit to explore this interest of mine. The team has been wonderful and is truly a community that promotes inclusivity and progression. My favourite part of enTECH so far has been involving myself in the community in a creative and unique aspect.

Becoming a junior executive of enTECH is a great opportunity for me to make a difference in the Waterloo community. During these difficult times, it is vital that older adults are able to get the support they need so that they can stay connected to friends and family. This is a chance for me to learn new skills that will help me in my future career pathway.

Karen Li, BSc(c)

Volunteering with enTECH has always been super fun and rewarding! I love how enTECH always find innovative ways to make a positive impact in the community, which has influenced me to join the executive team. Being an executive with enTECH has given me a chance to learn and grow with an enthusiastic team to provide unique opportunities that involves utilizing technology to help others connect with their loved ones and for recreation purposes!
